Studio Membership
Have pottery experience but don't have your own studio or equipment? We get it, pottery making takes a lot of space and expensive tools. Thats why we are happy to offer our community studio to you! A studio membership is a great option for hobbyists or emerging artist.
Studio memberships are available for EXPERIENCED potters who can navigate the studio independently. Membership include 24/7 access to the Oxford Clay Center outside of scheduled classes and private parties, access to OCC tools, equipment, glazes, reading materials, and a personal locker. In addition members can enjoy 25% off all group hand building classes. Members are also eligible to sell their work at the Needs Pottery storefront. Must be 18+ or have parental consent.

What is included?
Included in your studio membership is 24/7 access to the Oxford Clay Center outside of scheduled classes and private parties. The OCC is equip with one large kiln, three wheels, a slab table, banding wheels, a large work table, a wide array of glazes, hand tools, and a growing collection of educational books and magazines. All equipment and tools are first come first serve among members.

While memberships are primarily independent work, a staff member is available to help with questions and troubleshooting during Needs Pottery hours.

Members can enjoy a 25% discount on all group hand building classes.

Members will have the opportunity to sell artwork in the Needs Pottery storefront (upon discretion). A 25% commission of sales will be collected and kept by Needs Pottery in exchange for shelf space in the storefront.
What is not included?
Members are required to purchase their own clay. A low fire red art clay and a mid fire b-mix are available to purchase at the Oxford Clay Center, or other clay types can be special ordered through Needs Pottery. Members are also allowed to bring in clay from outside sources.

Although a wide variety of glazes and hand tools are provided you may want to bring in your own specialty glazes and tools that are not provided. These may be kept in your locker along with your clay.

Community towels and aprons are available but you may find it's nice to have your own personal towel and/or apron.. because germs. Lockers are equip with hooks perfect for hanging these.

No community respirators are provided.. also because germs. If you would like one, you will need to bring your own.
​
A lock for your locker if desired. We do have cameras and I expect members to be respectful.. but if you would like to bring a lock for peace of mind you are more than welcome to.
